Winter is here, and so is our love of good old fashioned tomato soup! Its incredibly simple to make from scratch and is known for being a star of lycopene, so why not boost it up with the savory superfoods of māla girl?
This is one of those favorite recipes, where each flavor of māla girl work to provide completely flavor profiles of tomato soup, yet each being a star in their own way. We kickstarted this soup this season with miracle moringa. The sweet earthiness notes that moringa brings to the party, make this soup so craveable, you'll be refilling your bowl if you're able to!
Last year we enjoyed this with a mix of soulfull and brainiac...which māla girl would you choose?
-cosmic curry?
-fireball basil?
-mystic maca with a touch of cumin?
Lastly for the creaminess...we featured this recipe with our oat buttermylk, which gives a rich dairy free option.
Feeling nutty?
Check out or dreamy and creamy line up and give it a try with JOI Cashew or Almond or an exotic flair with a drizzle of single origin tahini.
This is how we 🍅 soup and salad in the winter. With tomato soup being so incredibly effortless to make from scratch, lets take a few moments and have fun with the toppings.
Baby arugula, red onions, chopped almonds, maybe a little feta and olive oil drizzle?
Sounds about right! A nice side of fresh crusty bread would also be pretty spectacular!
Saute approximately 3-5 minutes until onions soften and begin to caramelize.
Whisk in oat buttermylk, and hot water.
Whisk in tomato sauce and miracle moringa or māla girl mood flavor of choice.
Bring to a simmer and ladle up into bowls.
Have fun and get creative with your toppings or simply enjoy it as is!
Recipe Note
If you put the oat buttermylk in directly with the sauteed onions and hot water you may notice it clump at first....this is normal! Simply whisk for an extra minute until dissolved.
Alternatively, you can place oat buttermylk in a pint measuring cup and pour in one cup of hot water, use a frother until blended and then pour directly into a pot. We went for less cleanup;)
